I've had rolls of wire that would not feed correctly.
In a factory situation, we discovered that one particular 'batch' of wire spools were causing us grief. Changed to a different batch and the problems disappeared.
Supplier and manufacturer were never able identify what the problem was. (at least the didn't tell us).
