Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Carryout at 1.4 billion, acres at 87 "and " planting delays? First what do you mean by planting delays? A week in May or two weeks in May pushing into June 10. Isn't it far more likely that any delay will make more beans more likely? 90 million acres?
And take a look at the snow cover map below. I don't know about Minn. but here in NY we're not talk a couple on inches of new snow. We're talking 1-2 ft hard packed frozen snow which probably contains 5 inches of water ( the better part of the whole past winter's precipitation) on top of hard frozen ground that needs to melt and runoff yet. It's raining today but it's not a warm rain but rather a cold near freezing rain. And those conditions extend more or less out through Ohio. ( I like to remind people that in 2012 I had most of my plowing done by the end of March, This year my chisel plow has just appeared out of the snow drift.)
And as far as I can see the forecast calls for the cold to continue into early April. If anything here we are more & more likely to go more beans by necessity this year.
