Subject: RE: Where did soil survey maps come from?

North Central IL
I was at a Pioneer meeting the other day. They told how the company has completely redrawn the soil maps using elevations and other criteria and that they have changed drastically. Said the maps are theirs for something like 2 more years at which time they will become the USDA's. Showed an IA farm as an example, having probably 15 different soils in it and they all changed by percentile. One particular soil went from comprising over 80 acres down to just a few.
