whitesville new york | We got our sample results and I have been going over them with the lady we buy our ferlizer, lime, and some seed from. She recommends spreading just lime and not worring to much about fertilizer. What ferlizer recommendation I did get out of her is a lot different than what we have been doing.
What she recommends. Spreading 200lbs of urea on pasture and hay ground. Spreading 19-19-19 on corn ground along with using nachurs 6-24-6 liquid. Using 19-19-19 on new seedings also.
What we've been doing. Aiming to spread 100lbs urea on pastures if things time up to do so. Get about 300lbs total of 15-15-15 on hay ground in 2 applications. Corn has been 100-150lbs of urea with 8.5 gallons of 6-24-6. New seedings get 200lbs 15-15-15.
I'm nor questioning the lime part. Almost all of the farm calls for around 2 ton of hi cal lime. I'm not sure I can cash flow covering the whole with lime in one year.
I just want to make sure I can grow a decent crop with her fertilizer suggestion. I will attach a soil sample and most of the farm looks like this.
