Texas | Garvo, I strongly disagree with your self-assessment posted here. You may very well end up with a great year for this group of cattle. Should the market move higher than you have seen and you keep a floor under your position instead of forward contracting, you will have started a revolution in the cattle feeding business. Lots of folks are watching what you end up doing.
The numbers suggest a much higher market before your cattle are finished. You could have rang the bell on the last group if you had avoided the forward contract. It's good you haven't contracted these cattle. Keep a floor under them and move it up when you can. I hope you shock everybody with your profits this go around.
