Fairbury, NE (Southeast) | Poor Garvo....perhaps its time to think outside the box. What was gonna happen after feeders hit record highs? why not diversify; feed some thin cows, over winter cows, custom feed, etc.
The conservative guy who has his own cow herd and maybe buys a few to supplement his own is still rolling along regardless of the market.
Garvo rails against the cow/calf man....but who was holding you back when pasture was bringing $750 10 years ago. Not too hard to get a cow herd started. 3k a pop, fill your barns with your own cow's calves. 3 million worth of cows is a gift that keeps on giving. | |
