Texas/New Mexico Stateline

Who pays the brand inspector? Brand registration I assume? Renew it yearly for the brand yearly? ex, 30$ per farm, per year?

Depends on the state. In Texas it is like $10 for ten years to register one, because like I said it is a county by county brand book. Very few livestock inspectors around here. And we are a cattle state.

Then in New Mexico it is much more expensive, seems like it is $75 for 3 years to register, then you pay $ per head when you ship the cattle and they change ownership. Or go through the sale ring.

Can't change ownership without having an inspector present to verify all the brands.
