| I would like to know myself why they do that, sell their brand? Make your own brand and register it and brand em. Most folks around here don't turn anything out without a brand on it except for a few hobby guys or traders. It is a cheap insurance policy. Neighbor had five head stolen, only two of them had their brand on them and they turned up at a sale barn six hours away and he got his cows back. Sale barns do pay attention to brands and that is a good thing. I think some states require you to brand everything.
