I had a Sunflower and never had any problem with the rear disc gang not turning. It and the front disc gang were both independently hydraulically adjustable up and down so you could set your ripper depth and then adjust either front or rear any where you wanted it. I thought it was a great tool and would not have got rid of it except I went to no till
