Subject: today's 2 skunk live trapping tips

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
Tip #1. After you shoot and kill the skunk which you have caught in a live trap in a dimly lit barn, BUT before you attach a 2 foot piece of # 9 wire with a hook in one end to snag the trap and a 6' piece of rope on the other end to drag trap out of the dimly lit barn, PLEASE CHECK to make sure that there isn't a second, and live, skunk in trap. After dragging trap out of dimly lit barn 50' thru 2 inches of snow with the trap tumbling behind you, all the while thinking "Boy, he's a big sucker" and after reaching down to unhook your wire loop from the trap, only to see Mr. #2 looking at you, eye to eye, which granted is better than butt to eye, I guess, is NOT the time to be checking for a twin.

Tip # 2. Before attempting any of the above, please remove that winter Carhartt coat, which you have finally gotten broken in "just right", and had planned on wearing it every day until around mid-March. Instead, go get that free seed corn coat which you got 8 years ago, which never did fit right from Day 1, was constructed of some man-made fabric that crackled every time you moved, and has the seed corn company logo of that hybrid which you thought would be good but was 35 bushels/acre short and went down from the wind in mid Sept, and you vowed that you would never buy anything from that company again.
