arthur , ontario | calf raising has become quite a bit more challenging ? lately as many illnesses don't respond to antibiotics like they used too? better to keep em healthy then try and treat? getting calves from different sources just makes it all that more fun? we use the agriplastic hutches, easy to wash and disinfect? since we are a dairy operation, we feed the milk that is bypassed away from the tank to our calves.. we started using a large calf milk pasteurizer for this off milk with absolute amazing results! went from constant treating to having a very rare case of a calf off feed? can say that we have not lost a calf since bringing this in last may? if you are feeding commercial milk replacer? then you won't need one? but make sure your water source is good! | |
