If its not hydro the internal seal is not out. I haven't done my own finals yet but took it off and sent to dealer. They said bearing failure but was just seal. Mine was leaking hydro. After u jack it up and check end play, this is best done with a dial gauge, just keep going and you should be fine. At worst u can pull wheel and just rrplace grease seal on axle if it keeps up. For 4840 the outer bearing doesn't get hydro if i remember, the seal outer most on axle is grease seal, then bearing, then hydro seal.
