In order to save up and buy 200 acres with cash in the corn belt you are looking at a minimum of $1.6 mil. If I saved $40k per year, I could buy that farm in 40 years when I'm 65!
Dont forget taxes on the $40k/y as well as the likelihood that the 200 acres could easily cost 3-4million in 40 years....
Talk of renting ground.
