It is a prototype furnace that we had made. It has three coal stokers and runs at about 1.2 million btus. This is hooked up with a plenum to the 50 hp fan on the shivers setup. The propane down stream was used to get a little more heat and keep it automated.

With this setup there is no boiler, just a heat exchanger, so the air heated and passing by is very dry (the propane adds moisture).

It burned the equivalent of about a bulk black box of coal each day.
