McMaster-Carr and Baum Hydraulics have Acme threaded rod in several sizes and pitches. Better for plow lifting than V threads. www.mcmaster.com www.baumhydraulics.com

Lathe cut threads can work well, easiest to find the cutting tool for V threads, more difficult for acme threads. The quality of the nut is critical to success.
