This probably won't help your situation, but on new construction, this is something to consider.

2x4 wood staggered on 2x6 top and bottom plates, plus insulation. Noise doesn't travel directly from drywall, thru 2x4, then thru drywall again.(going from solid surface, to solid surface more easily)
