Subject: RE: insulating inside house walls

King City, Mo
When we built our house we decided that all bathroom, bedroom and stair case interior walls would have r11 bat insulation. It helps a lot.

Also one place people skimp because they are out of money by this part is carpet. Get the top of the line Mohawk corn carpet. Get the best pad you can get.

On the main floor and upstairs/bonus room we did that and it's awesome. People come over and comment how comfy our carpet is.

We went to a good grade but not tip top of the line carpet in the basement. It's ok and a great carpet but nothing like what we put in the rest of the house. You can feel the difference.

The carpet really quieted down the house. I spent over two years working inside the house crawling all over it and The insulation in the walls helps and so does the carpet as it absorbs some of the sound it seams.
