If possible fenceline wean put cows on one side of fence calves on the other

This is what we started doing a few years ago. Our neighbourhood has built up with more homes around the main farm, so we separate out in the pasture and then run them home once the bawling stops. By this point they are used to just being together as calves and transition well to the farm yard for the winter. Neighbours hardly hear em anymore and I don't mind either.

Has been working the coyotes up too though. Never have trouble, but all that bawling seems to bring the 'yotes in closer and gets them yelping.
