With home raised/farm fresh calves I would just wean them and work latter, if you were in the mood to do so.  Vaccines have a fancy name, maybe efficacy. That say's the percentage uptake is lower when given to animals under stress.  Would work in couple weeks if turning back with cows not an option.  Would not bother me a bit to wean and work latter.  Good Luck.
