| That's part of the reason...but the reality is that Congress wanted a centralized organization for exports and the Census Bureau was chosen as the official tracker of exports so the USDA has to use them. In some years when there are large differences between the two data sets they will meet and try to sort out the issues. I remember one year when the Census was counting soymeal exports off the PNW as soybeans so you can imagine there was a big difference that needed sorting out. | |
