Williams 82 is a very old bean.  Wouldn't that be like comparing a modern hybrid like 6533 to a 40 year old hybrid?

Here, the public beans have yields has high as any in the university plot.

4 bu at $10 is only $40 per acre but when you add in seed cost and chemical cost and long term considerations, I am not sure they are that much better?  A GMO premium can wipe out the $40 difference alone.

Don't you mean nonGMO premium? Tough to find one "here" that will pay shipping. Don't know where Brad finds his. As far as williams go I would like to try a blend of hobbits and 3127's like we used to use. Twenty years latter I'm still trying to beat those yields.
