SC Wisconsin | I seem to remember reading that parsnip seeds have a 60% germination rate and a 1 year shelf life. When I grew then, I used to get a new pack from Jungs every year. Hollow Crown was the variety I think. I quit growing them because I'm the only person in the family that eats them. I love em, everyone else hates them.
What always got me about parsnips it that every time I got near them I'd have an unconscious instinctive reaction to jerk away. Too many years of avoiding wild parsnips has imprinted that reaction on my brain I guess.
