WCIN | NASCAR and NHRA has been doing it for years with 355ci with way more HP. Agreed, unless ran on a dyno to tune it in, I would be skeptical on the engine rating without documentation.
Transmission will be the biggest issue in my thoughts.
And yes, had a 454 that would eat the lobes off of 3 intake valves. 3 times with a Napa cam, Isky cam, and a Comp cam.
I sold it to a truck puller knowing about this. They ran 2 cams through it and scraped the block.
Hell, I bought the truck to keep from working on it and sold the engine. Couldn't afford to have the lifter bores' sleeved then, but wish I kept it.
