Milford, IL | IMO, be careful buying from someone who advertises a 402 ci engine at 500hp. Yes it can be done, but most guys do not know how. If the engine is naturally aspirated, its going to need one whale of a camshaft and darn good cylinder heads to make anywhere near 500 horse. Huge cam in a 4000# full size pickup = not much fun to drive on the street. It would need a rather loose torque converter and 4.10s would be a minimum to really get with the program. Big block chevys have been known to eat big flat tappet camshafts for breakfast unless the engine builder spent the bucks on a roller camshaft.
Might want to ask the seller who built the motor and what parts the builder used. | |
