Pittsburg, Kansas | Very good points Sat and I have appreciated you comments and following what the funds are doing. That said, it is only one portion of what makes the market move. If it were only the traders that made all the difference it would be much easier to pull the trigger when the specs were running the market up. Of course if it were easy, everyone would do it and the advantage would quickly disappear also. Things that are hard is what provides the opportunity to those that have the ability to do them profit. But it is only one piece of the puzzle. Weather, how much farmers plant, and the demand for our product still out-trumps all other factors. The funds just hop along for the ride and exaggerate market moves to more extremes. By following those extremes, hopefully you can make a little more off the funds coat tails than you otherwise could. Just be careful. They go on trends (as seems like every market does these days, seems like no one pays attention to much else in stocks) and when the weather changes and the trend does, they will to. In other words they don't care if we make a crop or not, or if the end users needs are met or not. They just are looking on being on the right side of the movement. We as farmers have more at stake than they do, being naturally long when we plant a crop. John
