Subject: RE: Canola production question

Tenn Valley
On the white mold fungicide, check with Ag Extension to see if Folicur/tebuconazole is registered for canola. Folicur was the standard white mold fungicide on Southeast peanuts. With generics being available now, the price is around $50 per gal. Most Mid South canola will be dessicated as all the pods don't ripen at the same time. If you wait for the top pods to ripen, the lower seed pods will shatter. It probably depends on variety but you need to be aware of this. Are you applying boron with your foliar sprays? Boron is important to high yields.
