S.E. Iowa | I remember it well, snow filled in on down wind side of houses to the roof line. Highway 78 from Martinberg to highway 63 filled in with so much snow that one farmer and his wife took in like 20 people from disabled vehicles. They kept those people and fed them like 2 days before heavy equipment could clear the highway. Dozers and graders with V blades were needed to open roads, regular plow trucks couldnt do anything. Snowmobiles were some help but back then most couldnt handle deep snow. | |
