| In a world of standardization, trailer wiring is far from it. Both wire color and pin position vary by application/industry. The most common common color coding is; green-right turn (think turn when clear), yellow-left turn (think turn with caution), red-stop (be it lights or electric brakes), black and/or brown-tail and markers, blue-aux (be it back-up lights or whatever, and white-ground. The ground pin/socket/lug is larger than the rest.
Pin position/useage is not as standardized. It is not unusual to find mating connectors to be labeled differently. The adapters can be equally challenging. | |
