ohiofarmboy1958 - 11/27/2012 08:52 if what you say is true that there is no GOD, how do you explain all the living things around us, how do you explain man with all our knowledge can't replicate a human being with living tissue and a brain that usually functions. My view is give the lord what is his with a giving heart. If you give expecting something in return you will not see the glories the Lord can provide. If you give willingly and with a loving heart you will be amazed at the gifts the Lord will give. Understand they may not be in financial but there are so many other rewards he will give if you just believe.

Be a little careful using that argument, tissues are now being cultured to replace human parts of the body, not the whole body, and replacements are not one hundred percent perfect.  However, many tissue replacements have been grown in the lab, and used successfully in humans..  I sometimes think of the tower of Babel story when I think about the great progress scientists have made to extend and make better human life.  It may well be a sign of end times, but we all know that time means nothing to God, so it may not be soon in human years.

Some of my family are convinced that majoring in Science in College destroyed my religon.  I have no idea where they got that idea, perhaps it is because I do not attend an orginized religous service on a regular basis.  Quite the contrary, the more I learn about scientific discoveries, the more I am convinced that a higher power than humans has to be in charge.  I have to accept evolution based on evidence, but argue that it had divine intervention.  If you study animal or plant breeding, as all smart farmers do, you do believe in evolution, as that is what selective breeding is all about.  We learn more and more about genetics, while in college I was told about the DNA heliex, and told that that would change biology as genes were sequenced.  We all have seen the progress in that field today, I believe God is involved in the process, something that complex just logically cannot happen by itself.  It is faith that sets us free to discover the greatness of a higher power than ourselves.
