NC IA | 2377s/88s of that vintage will need very few things at those hours, but here's a few things to look for- chopper pan wear, all chains (if they haven't been replaced once it will need them all, roller chains that is, only $200 worth.) Clean grain tank delivery auger. Pull front rotor half-moon door (under cab) and look at cone, impellers, and concaves. Shouldn't be anything wrong yet, but look for rock damage. Keep an eye on engine fan belt/tensioner, and if it has metal engine fan consider update to plastic one. Fan hub/bearing also had issues. 05s were mechanical P-pump/throttle cable, 06s were electronic high-pressure-common-rail. Both are OK fuel systems. 2377 will handle 30 ft head fine, as well as 88 will be fine with 6 row ch. 99%, maybe 99.9% of 05/06 machines will have AFX rotor. Be sure it has some straight bars on at least the rear half over the grates. | |
