This is what I'd do. Use a skidsteeer with tracks/foam filled tires with tree shears and cut all the saplings and treat the stumps right away with tordon or pastureguard/diesel. Even after you pile the brush up and burn it, be very careful to drive through the pasture where the trees were because there will be thorns that fell off. You'll ruin a good set of tires driving through a thorn patch because you will never find all the thorn holes in them. They just keep mysteriously going flat. Believe me.
