Southeast Washington
Here in wheat country dockage begins at .2% for export and the rates go up quickly as the dockage increases. The trash weight is also subtracted so it is only an expense to haul to the elevator.

I say run whatever combine suits your needs. Years ago our JD dealer took inventory of combines in the area and discovered there were more Gleaners than JD's so they ended up buying the Gleaner dealership and ran it also for years. They did try to convert the Gleaner owners to JD. Unfortunately for them if a Gleaner owner switched it usually was to red. Mother Deere made them close the Gleaner dealership and they have since sold out the JD dealership to the big consolidation effort going on across the country. This past summer there were at least 2 Gleaner Super 7's for every new JD S series in this area. Most farms are getting more new red machines by far though here. Just a disclaimer though is the Gleaners are able to run as a level land machine while green, red, and yellow need to run a $75,000 to $100,000 leveling system which makes them that much heavier also.

In wheat the Gleaner has no trouble running with any of the other brands around here.
