Watonwan County MN | +1000000. To each his own. In our neighborhood, there are only 2 farmers with a red combine, the rest are Deere and Gleaner. Really depends on the dealer. Deere dealer in town, Gleaner 15 miles away, C IH 20 miles away. And as far as the comparison, I have been on many combine demo's where the Deere "isnt set right" or there's "new software coming to fix the glitch" Last year we were combining soybeans in the same field as a 9860 Deere. He had a 30' flexhead with air reel, I had a 20' flexhead with air reel on my R50. About 52 bpa beans, 7:00pm. I was right there with the green machine with less loss and fewer gpa burnt. Granted I was pushing a smaller head, but same parasitic loss with air reel blower, same variety beans, same time of day. Deere operator commented when we quit for the evening how in the hell can that little machine keep up with this one when he has twice the HP. Told him must be magic or something.
