Well, maybe or maybe not. Some of the old houses, if they stuffed bat, they didn't have anything between the boxes and the outside wall. However, in a house built in the 30's, and remodeled in the 50's, or so, there is a good chance there is nothing there. That was the case here. I blew in cellulose. Rented the blower and did it myself. Not a horrible job. One of the better $175 I ever spent.
