Why not use disc mower blades instead of mower sections? Get the shoulder bolts like JD uses and bolt them on so they can swing, they have some twist to give you a little lift. The cutting parts are pretty reasonably priced, you wouldn't save much by going w/sickle sections and you would give up the breakaway.
