I don't think I would like the autoset personally. There are times I'm adjusting the 'heat' and the wire speed to get exactly the weld/bead I want. Sometimes I'll turn the wire speed down to get a smaller bead, little more pentration, other projects it'll be "by-the-book". You can never buy too big of a welder. Get yourself the 252 and you will be building your own equipment before you know it. That's what happened to us, had a stick welder used mostly just to fix broken stuff. Now we're out building the equipment we need. Took a 12r30" cyclo and turned it into a 40' male row planter for seed corn.
Or took our strip-till bar and redesigned and built it to what we wanted.
