I don't have experience with either of those, but when I went welder shopping the sales guy steered me towards a Miller 210 instead of the 250, he told me that if I ever needed to weld real thick stuff I could, I would just have to do it in two or three passes-which I should anyway. He saved me at least a couple hundred $$. My 210 is ~7 years old and has been completely trouble-free.
