Subject: RE: 1770nt with row command and JD rate controller

Thompson ND / Grand Forks ND
Solution Number: 83746

Solution Summary: Swath Control does not work, Diagnostics show no machines detected

Publication Date: May 8 2009

**Paper copies of solutions may not be the most current solutions**

Complaint or Symptom :
Swath Control Pro will not or has quit working with a GS2 Rate Controller

Swath Control Pro will not or has quit working with a RowCommand planter

Swath Control Pro will not or has quit working with a John Deere capable sprayer

Customer has looked in the GS2 Pro diagnostics for the problem and is presented with the number of machines detected as zero “0”

Problem or Situation :
Swath Control Pro is not changing section status correctly according to coverage at headlands,

Solution :
Change the Foreground Layer of the map settings to a map that is from the virtual recording of a Swath Control capable controller.

Additional Information :
Virtual Recording controllers capable of Swath Control would be any one of the three:

GS2 Rate Controller

RowCommand Planter

Updated SRC Controller on John Deere Sprayers

Additional Information :
Such examples of this include but are not limited to:

1. Viewing the Flags foreground layer will not allow SCP to work.

2. Rate Controller on a planter that is doing dual varieties. The first tab is from the rate controller and set to a filler crop to satisfy documentation (Sunflower). The second tab is another Planting/Seeding tab that has been correctly configured for dual varieties (Corn). The customer is viewing the As Applied map for Corn which is from the second tab and is not from a virtual recording source.

3. Customer has a SeedStar planter, either Gen2 or SeedStar2 that is using a Rate Controller for Liquid Fertilizer. This customer would have the first tab from the Planting/Seeding operation which is not capable of SCP and is currently being viewed while the second tab is from the GRC for the fertilizer, but is not being viewed. In this situation, they could also be viewing the Coverage Only map which is also from the Planting/Seeding task and will not allow SCP to work.

4. Customer is using a Rawson Controller for their planter population control, in conjunction with a GRC for Liquid Fertilizer. The GRC takes the first tab for documentation and the Rawson controller will be setup in the Planting/Seeding tab. In this instance the customer is able to view the As Applied map for the fertilizer as well as the Coverage Only map because it is coming from the GRC. They will not be able to be viewing the seeding map.
