Subject: RE: SATA & PATA on same computer?

East central Iowa

Okay, thank you.  When he dropped it off I had to go into the BIOS and change the boot order.  It was trying to boot from a non-existent floppy.  He isn't up on computers and I was just taking his word.

I don't need it to boot from both drives, just want to copy all his files for his new computer.

The drive not hooked up was the original drive (PATA)  and evidently he and his son copied all the files to a new bigger drive that was SATA.    His son told him you couldn't run both drives at the same time but I had no idea as to why not.  It should boot off one which I can set up in the BIOS and then copy all the pertinent files to an external drive.

Thank you for the support.
