Really, don't panic...This is not as hard as it used to be. I own and run 12 websites now. The service I use is 9 bucks per month with a $20.00 set up fee and included 100 emails.
You can not only migrate your favorites, but also use your domain to take opportunity for real time information sharing about vital information you need to share to the people you work with.
