Windows 7 is just a upgrade to Vista. My wife has had Vista Home Prem since Vista came out. She loves it. When my XP machine went south, I got a new laptop with Vista. I am glad so that I do not have to keep up with 2 operating systems. I have not had any problems. I ran the pcdecrapifier to clean my new notebook. I have now got my machine where there are is very little cpu time used when I am not doing anything. Things keep on trying to get installed and run all the time. Such things as updaters (acrobat, google and others). My computer is a lot faster than my XP desktop. I will upgrade to W7 when I get a new computer next year or the next year. Good things on Vista--networking a lot easier, seems to use the dual cores better, actually seems faster, sidebar is cool, plays hulu better, and other things. I have a 3 year old laptop with XP and that is a slow poke.
