Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.
I've always saved any scans I've done as TIFFs. Capability of the modern scanner has outstripped the film technologies of the period when the pics were taken. If you go too hi-res, all you have is three or four pixels on the scan for each grain on the pic. Doesn't look good at all. Experiment to see which looks best.
