It's not a fraction of an inch when a corn seed doesn't' grow or emerge properly. It's a gap of several inches.


In this situation, we are not concerned about a gap, because if we are concerned about a skip hurting yield potential, then the planting population is increased to offset population loss due to lost germination.

Increasing the population by 1000 or so plants is going to reduce the effective spacing by fractions of an inch.


So you're telling me a 30k pop at 100% germ is going to yield equally with a 33K pop at 90%, for example.

I know which one I'd take.
