NE Alberta
The RH rear of the cab has a computer with several removable cards that controls the whole tractor. Make sure the heat sink on the outside has access to air (no jackets or tools jammed against it), make sure the sealant behind the heat sink is OK for heat transfer, make sure that the cards are snug in their slots (no jiggling around making bad connections), make sure that the connections were the cards slide into are clean and not corroded, and MOST OF ALL BE VERY CAREFUL CHARGING OR BOOSTING WITH THE BATTERIES CONNECTED. These systems were VERY sensitive to high voltage, and many a card has been burnt out by an owner finding dead batteries in the spring and putting on a charger or booster that gives the system 18V, then wondering why everything worked when they put it away and now it will not move.

They came with "cannister" hydraulic filters that could be updated to "cartridge type". There was no expense spared when building these great tractors (but that made them more complicated than the later versions), and unfortunately CNH parts support is very poor.

We sold our "red version" (built before CNH cheapened them up) last year and it was a great tractor.
