While I would never personally get a tatoo, I don't know that I would go so far as to say any tat was dumb, some are for sure , but not all. I don't mind tats that commemorate military service, or in honour of a lost child for instance.. but yeah a giant Homer Simpson tat is just silly. Too each his own I guess.
