| IMHO Things cannot go on like this forever we are borrowing from our great grandchildren now, and that is about the only thing we still produce, offspring.
Manufacturing plants have all but closed but instead we now have all sorts of fast food, dollar-stores, casino's, all sorts of banks with financial gimmicks, services and crafty products and somewhere near the liquor store you'll find the pawnshops and money mart / payday loan stores.
My son worked at H&R Block doing tax returns people would take 80% up front of their expected Tax refunds rather than wait a few months for their cheque from the government, than to top it off they would take their 80% cheque and cash it at a moneymart, take another hit rather than wait till morning for the regular bank to open.
We have worked off the assumption that people (including myself) and markets were rational but I am having my doubts about that too.
Wouldn't some regulation to help protect people from being gouged be a good thing ?
Thanks for your posting John Burns you make me think.
