I did not see video of him during the national anthem so I can't comment too much on that, but, the picture I saw with his hands up hooked to his shoulder pads (a lot of players do that) and the towel draped over his head with his head bowed didn't come across as disrespectful to me.  I bet you would find a number of players in a very similar pose.
