Can't offer any suggestions, it's been many years since we have bought anything for "special occasions" such as birthday, anniversaries, Christmas, or New Years.  We want something we go get it. We do manage to get away from the farm several times a year. Fortunate to have a neighbor that we swap "watching things" with. 

Back in the day, I had a secretary ask me what I was getting my wife for Christmas and I told her Jewelry and lingerie. She said "that's great, what are they.

I said, "well I start of with a real nice flannel night gown. She then asked what kind of jewelry and I told her that when we went to bed, I would roll the gown up around her neck and that was the necklace.
