Your vision is a very precious gift. Glad you're recovering well from the surgery. Hope your wife is soon recovered as well.
Do not even go to your shop or pick up a hammer, etc until you have gotten some good safety glasses. Wear them anytime you're working on something. Some sunglasses like Nemesis are also rated as safety glasses. There is no substitute for wearing good eye protection.
