Aggieland | Okay so I've been a technician all my adult life and have amassed a good collection of hand tools over the years. 85% of them ride in my company owned truck at all times. I have two job boxes and a cross over in the truck, all bolted down and locked. Tonight I went through and organized all my tools and took pictures of them, in small groups good enough I would know what everything was.
My question is what insurance if any covers these? I have a homeowners policy, a liability policy and an auto policy on my wife's car. I don't think my tools in a company truck are covered by any of those, am I correct? There are some high end tools (torque multiplier, two laptops, hydraulic test pump, etc) that the company owns in there too. That's about $10,000 alone there.
Next thing is what do I call and ask my insurance lady. I would assume I've got a few thousand dollars in personal tools in the truck. I could put a pencil to it but it would take me a week!
Thanks for your insight. I appreciate it.
